Gingernut Biscuits

 


These homemade biscuits tastes better than the ones you buy.

Ingredients

  • 125g self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • 60g butter
  • 90g golden syrup

Method
  1. Grease 2 baking trays and preheat oven to 190C.
  2. Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger, cinnamon and sugar. Melt butter and stir in the syrup, then stir in the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Roll into small balls, place well apart on the trays and flatten slightly.
  4. Bake in centre of oven for about 15 minutes.
  5. Cool for a few minutes before lifting carefully on to a wire rack.
