Sausage and Rice Dish

 


An easy one-pot dinner for the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 10 sausage
  • 1 1/2 cup white rice
  • 2 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2 tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges *to serve
  • 1 cup sour cream *to serve

Method
  1. Brown sausages over medium heat in a large, deep frying pan.
  2. Remove sausages and slice into chunks, return to pan.
  3. Add remaining ingredients except lemon and sour cream.
  4. Bring to the boil then move to the smallest burner on the lowest possible setting.
  5. Cook covered, stirring occasionally for approximately 10 minutes or until rice is cooked.
  6. Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving with a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of lemon.
NOTES
  • Try adding some crushed chilli with the sour cream and stir through for a change! I used beef sausage and frozen mixed peas, corn, carrots.
