Sausage and Rice Dish
An easy one-pot dinner for the whole family.
Ingredients
- 10 sausage
- 1 1/2 cup white rice
- 2 tsp chicken stock powder
- 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
- 2 tsp crushed garlic
- 2 cup water
- 1 lemon cut into wedges *to serve
- 1 cup sour cream *to serve
Method
- Brown sausages over medium heat in a large, deep frying pan.
- Remove sausages and slice into chunks, return to pan.
- Add remaining ingredients except lemon and sour cream.
- Bring to the boil then move to the smallest burner on the lowest possible setting.
- Cook covered, stirring occasionally for approximately 10 minutes or until rice is cooked.
- Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving with a dollop of sour cream and a squeeze of lemon.
NOTES
- Try adding some crushed chilli with the sour cream and stir through for a change! I used beef sausage and frozen mixed peas, corn, carrots.
